Edgar Merzenich, DMD
After graduating from Oregon State University, Dr. Merzenich went on to receive his DMD from Oregon Health and Sciences University. He always keeps up with the latest advancements in patient care and technology, and is a member of both the American Dental Association and the Oregon Dental Association. He has been the recipient of the James Carter Memorial Surgery Award, among many other professional awards.
When he is not working in the office he can often be found on his tree farm. His dedication to his tree farm has earned him Tree Farmer of the Year twice. He has also been named Grand National Champion by Woodmizer for cutting and donating all the wood utilized in the construction of Baxter Hill Community Hall in Salem back in 2011. He also enjoys hunting, fishing, being a grandpa, and spending time with his wife, Nancy.
Tony Bassili, DMD Endodontics
Dr. Bassili broke his front teeth playing soccer. After several appointments, his dentist was able to restore his smile and, in turn, his self-confidence. It was at that time he decided to become an Endodontist. Dr. Bassili believes helping people achieve and maintain excellent dental health gives him the most satisfaction from his work. After graduating from Portland State University, Dr. Bassili received his D.M.D. from the OHSU School of Dentistry and his Endodontic Certificate from the University of Washington School of Dentistry. He is a member of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and the American Dental Association. He is the recipient of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology Award. When he’s not caring for his patients, you can find this delighted family man relaxing and spending time with his wife and two children.
Sayij Makkattil, BDS MSD
Dr. Makkattil has been practicing dentistry all over the world since 1994 in countries such as India, the United Kingdom, and the USA. His credentials include certificates for both Periodontics and Implantology with degrees from Bharati Vidyapeeth’s Dental College and Indiana University School of Dentistry. He is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, the American Dental Association, the Oregon Dental Association, and Marion and Polk County Dental Society. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife and two children. He also enjoys listening to a variety of music and staying active by playing tennis.
